Pocket Heroes - Ladder Match, PvP guide


First of all - this guide won't make you win all the time. Am not even sure if it is possible, because there is a little of randomness in pvp matches. This guide as all which I write is based on my own knowledge and game experience, sometimes I might be wrong. Just wanna give you some tips and share my ideas.

1. INTERFACE

There is an indicator on the upper side saying how many cards and spells you(blue) and your enemy(red) have.
Purple star is number of spells and three yelllow cards sign is number of cards.
Below is AUTO button, you can activate it. Then cards and spells will be casted automatically.
On lower side is located your hand, which contains maximum 8 cards or spells. First two are always cards, then come spells or cards obtained by other ways (ex. stealing).
Cards and spells are generated RANDOMLY.



2. CARDS

3. SPELLS SETUP

In my opinion damage is not most important thing in pvp. Of course it is significant, but not the most. You have to focus on crowd control spells and resistance against it. My first team consisted of massive DPS. That team was annoying... Then I focused on crowd control spells and heroes. My number one is berserker - when you manage to enrage him it is probably over - his aoe fear lasts 9s, additionally he has aoe knock down spell for 2s and still do tons of damage. 

Single target crowd control spells are good too - warlocks sheepshift transforms someone into alpaca for 15s. Probably when he turns back it will be too late.

Try to not take heroes with the same crowd control effect. When enemy team will have resistances just as your crowd control effects, you will have nothing. Mix them - stun, fear, knock down. Choose your team wisely.

What about slow down effect? I think that it is kinda useless, because at least half of team is ranged, other half usually has jump or teleport spell. Hooowever, slow down once stopped my berserker, but only once.

Oh and one more thing! Never play with alpaca effect on weapon - if  you manage to change someone into alpaca with autoattack it will stop previous effect immediately. You don't want to change your 6s stun with 2s alpaca. Mainly focus on life-drain or lighting strike effect.

4. RESISTANCE (updated 06.02.2015)

There is a small change. Don't mix resistances anymore, just focus on KNOCK DOWN resistance. Why? CHAMPIONS card is overused, at higher levels it will knock your heroes down for 3+ seconds. Sometimes enemy my draw and use this card before your heroes manage to get up. Additionally, heroes often have spells with knock down effect. You may avoid this annyoing crowd control effect.

5. HOW TO PLAY

Quickly and wisely. Don't cast all your spells like mad. When enemy team is under crowd control effect don't cast next immediately. Let previous one end up. If enemy is almost dead finish him with autoattack, don't waste powerful spell.
Cards - these use as fast as possible, you have only two slots - don't block them! Remember you can use single target cards on chosen targets, not randomly. Drag the card over the target, voila!

6. PK

This is something like friendly match, you don't gain and don't lose anything.
